Course Description
The Advanced Medical Life Support Provider course is a two-day, in-depth study of medical emergencies. This course emphasizes a very practical approach and format.
The curriculum is designed to allow for an ample amount of actual hands-on physical assessment of patients. The AMLS course, and specially written book, are aimed directly at paramedics and EMS nurses. They include time-tested strategies of education, developed by the National Association of EMTs and the National Association of EMS Physicians.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Continuing Education
The University of Iowa EMSLRC awards 16 CEHs for the Provider course. The EMSLRC requires full-time attendance for CEH award.
Nursing Continuing Education
The University of Iowa EMSLRC does not award nursing continuing education for this course.
