Holden Cancer Center Funding Opportunities Currently Accepting Applications

Neuroendocrine Tumor Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE)

The purpose of the NET SPORE Developmental Research Program is to encourage innovative laboratory and clinical studies in neuroendocrine tumor research, and to provide funds to support previously untested hypotheses or other innovative research objectives that address problems in neuroendocrine cancer. All levels of faculty (resident through professor) are eligible. See complete announcement for detailed instructions. Two awards are available at $50,000 each. PDF iconCareer Enhancement Program

The NET SPORE Career Enhancement Program is aimed at early career basic scientists or clinicians who propose to acquire additional skills and become translational researchers in neuroendocrine tumors. Laboratory scientists or clinicians can be senior post-doctoral or junior faculty level; more experienced researchers who wish to shift their focus to neuroendocrine translational research are also welcome. Residents and fellows must have a mentor. One award is available at $100,000, or the review committee may elect to select two awardees at $50,000 each. A letter of concept must be submitted by June 20, 2018, to karla-stout@uiowa.edu, 319-353-8634.

Collaborative Teams must consist of three or more investigators and must include at least one Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center member, and a Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center member must be the team leader.
