How much do mindfulness programs cost?

Program fees are listed within each individual program.

Does insurance cover any of the programs?

The Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) program for prevention of depression relapse may be covered by insurance if the participant's policy covers mental health and group therapy. Participants must have a diagnosis of depression and/or anxiety.

The MBSR class is not covered by insurance at this time.

Am I eligible for fee support for the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program?

UI employees may be eligible for fee support through UI Wellness.

How do I apply for a scholarship for the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program?

Contact us at and request an application. Once we receive your application and score it based on our established criteria, we’ll notify you whether and to what extent you are eligible for tuition support.

Scholarships are only available for the MBSR program.

Why do people attend mindfulness program classes?

A wide variety of people attend the programs for many different reasons including wellness/self-care, stress, physical and mental health symptoms such as chronic pain, anxiety, sleep disruption, depression, difficulty with focus and concentration, substance abuse recovery, desire to live more fully and consciously and to improve ability to respond skillfully to life circumstances. Participants typically range in age from late teens to elders.

Are the intake sessions/informational meetings mandatory?

Yes, they are required. Mindfulness-based programs require time, energy and consistent practice on the part of participants in order to be most beneficial. We want you to know what the program of your choice involves so that you can make an informed choice about if and when it is right for you to participate.

How often are classes offered?
