About

"One out of 26 Americans have epilepsy, and too many of those with epilepsy are lost to sudden unexpected death in epilepsy patients (SUDEP). I joined the faculty at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to work to help stop seizures and to improve the lives of those with epilepsy. Every person has different epilepsy that requires an individualized plan, which may include medications, lifestyle modifications, neurostimulation, surgery, or other treatments. I work with my patients to find the plans that benefit them the most." — Gena R. Ghearing
