How ROSA works
ROSA assists our neurosurgeons with planning before the procedure and with precise incisions and navigation during the procedure.
Before surgery, the neurosurgeon uses the ROSA system to capture a detailed 3D image of the brain. The image helps the neurosurgeon identify the places in the brain that need to be reached during surgery, and it assists the neurosurgeon in planning the exact route to reach those places with surgical instruments.
During surgery, the neurosurgeon uses the ROSA system and the image in its memory to guide ROSA’s robot arm and the tiny, needle-like instruments required for a minimally invasive procedure. Those tiny instruments, and the precision accuracy of ROSA’s human-like arm movements, eliminate the need for larger incisions.
The neurosurgeon is always in control, using ROSA as a high-technology assistant for a safer procedure.
