About

Mark Miksch is an EMS instructor in the Emergency Medicine Services Learning Resources Center (EMSLRC), part of the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Mark received a BSN degree from University of Iowa's College of Nursing in 1990 and worked as a staff nurse in the UI Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for 14 years. During that period he served as a clinical preceptor for students from the UI College of Nursing, was an orientation preceptor for the UI Department of Nursing, and taught a cardiovascular section of the Critical Care Paramedic program in the EMSLRC. In 2007 he received a Master of Science degree in education, with an emphasis on instructional design for online learning, and has worked the past 10 years in the UI Nursing Clinical Education Center facilitating online education. In 2006 he received a First Responder certificate and continues as an EMR for a local service.
