The Perinatal Care Clinic at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics offers expert maternal, fetal, and pediatric care when families face the challenge of a high-risk pregnancy.
The clinic brings together maternal, fetal, and pediatric experts, plus a genetic counselor, nurses, social workers, and other resources and services from University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
We provide families with comprehensive care from prenatal diagnosis and delivery to postnatal care, long-term care, and follow-up.
Our team will meet with you to discuss the diagnosis and establish a plan of care for the baby.
Patients seen in the Fetal Diagnosis Unit are referred if the fetus has a pediatric surgical problem, congenital heart defect, central nervous system abnormalities, skeletal abnormality, genetic condition, as well as any baby who will need admission to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
