Course Description
The PHTLS course is designed to provide EMTs, Advanced EMTs, Paramedics and RNs with specific knowledge related to the prehospital assessment and care of the trauma patient.
Specific knowledge related to the prehospital assessment and care of the trauma patient will be included in this course, endorsed by the American College of Surgeons and the National Association of EMTs.
Continuing Education
Paramedic Continuing Education
The University of Iowa EMSLRC awards 16 CEHs for EMS Providers who complete the entire course. The EMSLRC requires full-time attendance for CEH award.
Nursing Continuing Education
The University of Iowa EMSLRC does not award nursing continuing education for this course.
