Five-Spice Duck Breast

  • 1 large duck breast
  • 1/8 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. pomegranate molasses (or substitute pomegranate sauce)
  • Small pinch Chinese five spice powder


In a hot pan add duck breast skin side down. Sprinkle five spice powder and salt on flesh side. Cook on skin side until fat renders out and skin is crispy. Turn duck breast over and cook in oven at 400 degrees for five minutes. Pull from oven and brush pomegranate molasses (or pomegranate sauce) on entire breast. Return to oven and cook for five additional minutes to desired doneness.
