Community Connections Supporting Reentry

CCSR Resource GuideThe Community Connections Supporting Reentry (CCSR) Resource Guide was developed to complement the information shared at the Community Connections Supporting Reentry training, and to serve as an ongoing resource to help connect individuals and families with necessary services and support to help them maintain stability, and find success in the community after incarceration. The goal of this guide is to provide simple overviews of the many services and supports available in the community, and where to go to make referrals or get more information. We plan for this guide to grow over the course of the project and will make updated electronic versions available to individuals who have attended past trainings and their organizations as information is added.

Community Connections Supporting Reentry Partnership

CCSR logoIn partnership with the Iowa Department of Human Services and Department of Corrections, CDD provided technical assistance to the develop and facilitate a series of trainings meant to bring together staff from the many service systems that support individuals reentering the community after incarceration, including providers from substance use disorder treatment, mental health and behavioral health services, integrated health homes, community corrections, prisons corrections, and others. The trainings are one component of a statewide recidivism reduction strategy funded by a federal Second Chance Act grant. The first round of trainings were conducted in winter 2016 and will be repeated in fall 2016 and again in early 2017.
