Amy from Gilman, Iowa
"To this day, I have still not Googled sarcoma."
Amy
“I decided to trust my doctors and my God—both of which are far better than Google.”
In a poignant recounting of more than four years of treatment and recovery, Amy says proudly: “I go back to Iowa City every 90 days for scans to check if the cancer has returned. I realize the odds are not in my favor. So I choose every day whether I will be paralyzed by fear or motivated to ‘suck the marrow out of life.’”
Along the way, Amy found several Holden people to thank for her outcome, including her oncologist.
“He stopped in my room every single day that I was in the hospital, sometimes late at night after he had worked in the clinic all day long. His commitment astounded me!”
