Melinda was diagnosed with stage 3 chondrosarcoma, a bone cancer that affected one of her major joints. She describes the experience as a mix of “unimaginable pain” from the cancer and a lasting comfort in knowing doctors were able to remove not only the initial cancer but the seeds it had started to spread elsewhere in her body.
