"Our twins were born in Bettendorf and transferred within hours to University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Our experience at UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital has been nothing short of amazing. Our children received wonderful medical care, and we attribute their success to the doctors and nurses that took care of them starting in the NICU. UI staff went above and beyond for our family, and as new parents they provided support and education to us through our most difficult times. We have follow-up care with multiple clinics and are so grateful to have a top-notch facility so close to home.
Beyond the phenomenal medical care at UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, all members of the healthcare team provide support to the families. From respiratory therapists, to techs, to nurses and doctors, everyone was friendly and always willing to help. We spent 13 weeks in the NICU with our twins including all holidays from October through January. The staff wrote notes from our babies, had holiday photo shoots, and created scrapbook pages celebrating milestones. We never expected to spend our first holidays as a family in the hospital, but UI staff made it the best through their loving actions. Thank you!"
