About Us
University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital has been meeting the health care needs of children and families since 1919.
As Iowa’s only comprehensive children’s hospital, we provide care for children from birth to young adulthood.
Our services include pediatric primary care and specialty care for traumatic injuries, chronic diseases, genetic disorders, and developmental disabilities.
As part of the state’s comprehensive academic health system, our teams also conduct research to better understand, prevent, and treat pediatric injuries and illnesses. We also teach and train future health care professionals in children’s medicine.
