  • Word finding
  • Reading of words, reading comprehension
  • Verbal expression of ideas
  • Writing
  • Reasoning ability
  • Memory

  • Math

Other traits that may be present include uneven and unpredictable test performance, perceptual impairments, motor disorders, and behaviors such as hyperactivity, inattention, impulsivity, low tolerance for frustration, and problems in handling day-to-day social interactions and situations. Identifying specific learning disorders is the first step in identifying treatment strategies. Common learning disorders evaluated in our clinics include:

  • Arithmetic disorder (Dyscalculia)
  • Writing disorder (Dysgraphia, Graphomotor Disorder)

Patients can be either self-referred or referred by a primary care provider, teacher, or school official.

Our patients receive thorough evaluations by one or more specialists in learning disorders who work with families, physicians, educators, and community agencies to tailor strategies for meeting each child’s needs and challenges of all types.
