Stegosaurus

This bright green Stegosaurus sculpture was made via slip casting, a process not unlike the fossilization that preserved the bones of this dinosaur and other ancient creatures. Liquid clay called "slip" is poured into an empty mold and takes on its shape. Some fossils are created in a similar way, with a plant or animal leaving behind their own empty mold in the ground for minerals and sediment to fill and turn to rock.
