Synthetic Landscape, Cloudbed

Clouds roll like ocean waves within an abstract, petri dish-like frame. McAdams glued, painted, and sanded the orange and pink structure first, and then he removed sections with water to make room for the clouds. McAdams combines the illusion of great depth in the center sky painting with real surface manipulation of paint and glue, as though the viewer peers through a tear to the scene beyond.
