Vulpecula the Fox

Up in the northern sky lives a fox made of stars called "Vulpecula," or "little fox." In this print, Doyle pays homage to that fox, the small goose often depicted beside it, and the imagination of astronomer Johannes Hevelius who discovered it in the 1800s. With a sly grin, the fox walks among a cloud of feathers toward the poor goose in a vignette reminiscent of the constellation-inspired stories of ancient peoples.
