Committed to safety: window upgrade project
To our patients and your families:
Your health and safety are important to me. That is why I want to assure you that, while you may see us actively monitoring and replacing windows here at University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, there is no cause for concern. We discovered that our window system needs to be replaced despite only being a few years old and we have taken all necessary measures to keep you and your loved ones safe so you can focus on your healing.
A team continues to monitor the windows, so you may occasionally see workers outside. As an added safety measure, fencing has been installed as work happens above. Also, some outdoor areas that cannot be easily fenced, such as the playground, are closed right now. There is another playground nearby that our care team can help you find during your time with us. We apologize for any inconvenience.
We remain committed to providing you and your loved ones with a safe place to receive outstanding care. Thank you for having us be part of your family’s care.
