UI Health Care employs more than 600 advanced practice providers (APPs) in essentially every clinical department.
We offer competitive salaries, comprehensive benefits, and rewarding positions for physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners including certified nurse practitioners, certified registered nurse anesthetists, certified nurse midwives, and certified clinical nurse specialists.
Our mission
Provide an infrastructure for advanced practice providers that promotes a culture of professional practice, quality patient care, and personal accountability that contributes to the overall success of the organization, while fostering an equitable, inclusive, and innovative environment that supports the health and well-being of patients, trainees, and ourselves.
Our difference
UI Healthcare is Iowa’s only comprehensive academic medical center. Our care providers are also researchers and teachers, committing their expertise to treating today’s patients as well as discovering tomorrow’s breakthroughs and training future care providers.
You will practice in Iowa’s first hospital to receive Magnet designation and the only one to be re-designated four times. We are among a select group of top hospitals in the world to receive this recognition for our nurses, who are committed to maintaining the highest standards of care.
Our career opportunities and living options provide an optimum work-life combination. Start with the area’s most complete benefits package for insurance, retirement, sick leave, and vacation. Add a vibrant community where education, entertainment, and recreation opportunities abound. Then combine the ingredients for professional development and advancement, including extensive research and advanced study opportunities.
UI Health Care offers positions in virtually every discipline and care setting. Our 700+ bed hospital and network of outpatient clinics provide care for more than 1 million patient visits annually. You can find our current openings listed at Jobs@UIOWA.
A Place to Demonstrate Your Leadership
Our APPs have opportunities to provide leadership in a variety of care settings, helping to set the clinical practice guidelines and evidenced based practices for providing high-quality, cost-effective care. APPs serve on many hospital-wide committees and have an active voice through the APP Council and a shared governance advisory board. They are actively engaged in multiple quality initiatives.
