Jim Shrosbree works between sculpture and painting, with the language of form he uses various materials to navigate the play of an interior landscape.
Conditions of working, such as space, tools, materials, and a visual vocabulary, fluctuate to become an extension of who Shrosbree is at that moment. Discovery comes at different rates and with uneven timing. Associations rise and fidget, hinting at meaning, while contradictions wrestle with one another. These conditions dictate a cycle of expansion and contraction that is an interactive relationship of knowing and not knowing. From this situation emerges new events that contribute to Shrosbree's personal growth perpetuating him to continue his explorative journey.
