Online scheduling frequently asked questions for pediatric patients
UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital pediatric primary care has a new online self-scheduling service for our Coralville, North Liberty, and Iowa City–Scott Boulevard clinics.
When you schedule an appointment online, you choose the time that works best for you and your family on your own schedule. Our online system is tied in directly with the same system our schedulers use, which means you get the most up-to-date choice of available appointments in real time. We’re making it easier for you and your family to get the care you need, when and where you need it.
Yes. This online self-scheduling system is available to new and existing patients. New patients will be asked to verify insurance information and other patient details as they move through the scheduling process online. Existing patients can use the online system or schedule appointments through MyChart.
Yes. This online system is tied directly with the same system our schedulers use.
Because this new service works alongside our scheduler system, it’s possible that you could get a message that says the time slot you’ve chosen is no longer available. That means that one of our schedulers chose that time slot before you were able to choose it. When this happens, simply repeat the process and choose another slot from the times available.
Some clinics are not able to use online scheduling. Also, some pediatricians are not accepting new appointments. For those locations and providers, please continue to make appointments as you normally would or by calling 1-888-573-5437.
Yes. When you get to the clinic, check in with our staff so they know that you’re ready to be seen. Be sure to bring your insurance information with you.
