A new hospital to serve the state
The North Liberty campus features a three-level hospital and five-level medical office building with convenient parking and easy access to patient care services.
The campus will serve as the new home for the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, offering a full range of musculoskeletal care in one location for a streamlined and seamless patient experience:
- Orthopedic surgery and nonsurgical procedures
- Outpatient clinics
- Sports medicine and physical therapy services with indoor and outdoor rehabilitation spaces
- Walk-in care for orthopedic injuries with weekday, evening, and Saturday morning hours
Other services and features at the North Liberty campus include:
- Full-service Emergency Department
- 24-hour drive-thru pharmacy
- Advanced diagnostic imaging capabilities
- Lab services, including phlebotomy
- Durable medical equipment
- Cafeteria and gift shop

Construction Overview
Work on the nearly 270,000-square-foot North Liberty campus facility began in October 2021, and construction has progressed at a steady pace.
The central utilities plant on the campus was completed by spring 2024 with major mechanical equipment—generators, chilling towers, and boilers—in place. Sidewalk, parking lot, and related paving work was finished by fall 2024, along with more than three miles of landscaping and irrigation.
Winter 2021-22: Steel beams placement begins
Spring 2023: Final steel beams placed, “topping off” the facility
Summer 2024: Exterior building envelope completed
Fall 2024: Exterior landscaping completed
