How to properly put on and take off a face mask

  • Masks should be expandable or made to fit over the top of your nose and below your chin.
  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before putting your mask on.
  • Once the mask is securely in place, don't touch it or your face. Leave the mask in place until you're ready to remove it.
  • When you're ready to take the mask off, avoid touching the outside of the mask.
  • After wearing your mask in public, consider the outside contaminated or dirty until after you wash it.
  • Wash your mask as soon as possible and wash your hands or use hand sanitizer after handling it.
  • If you want to take your mask off in your car, have a paper bag waiting to place the mask in. This is the safest way to store your mask until you get home.
