Thank you, health care workers, for being here

Kinnick Stadium shares A Big Thank You sign on jumbotron

While the past few years have been incredibly difficult for health care workers, the pandemic also put a spotlight on the important role health care workers play in their communities.

This would not have been possible without the large number of committed faculty and staff working 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Every day, our team members make a difference in the lives of others — whether it's providing care to patients, guiding operations, developing new therapies and treatments, or leading biomedical education and research.

Our staff knows it’s about working together—and helping others when they need it most.

Today, we are proud and grateful that we’ve been able to continue serving Iowans through all of the ups and downs. To show our appreciation, UI Health Care is celebrating Health Care Week May 8-14. We're recognizing everyone who works within the UI Health Care enterprise, regardless of their role or physical location.

We encourage the community to join us in saying a big “thank you” to health care workers. Our hope is that together our voices will ring loud enough that health care workers hear this important message:

We see you. We appreciate you. We are glad you are here.

You are an inspiration to us and so many other Iowans. Never doubt the difference you make in your community and across our state — and know that we are deeply grateful.

Join us in thanking a health care worker today. You can also express your gratitude on social media and tag us @uihealthcare.
