Many of you are familiar with the adage, “It takes a village.” This is especially true in the world of health care, and even more so with University of Iowa Health Care.
Our team of over 18,000 faculty and staff could fill a small town. Each team member is an important part of our “village.” The chaplains, cooks, housekeepers, nurses, physicians, researchers, students, volunteers, and dozens of other roles all work together to achieve our mission to care for Iowans, lead biomedical research, and educate the next generation of health care professionals.
It’s when times are challenging that the team you’re on matters most. We’re proud that over the past few years our UI Health Care team has proved repeatedly that we are stronger together.
We know that the work we do is not possible without each other. Every day, we are making an incredible difference in the lives of our patients, communities, and one another.
To show appreciation for our amazing team, we are celebrating UI Health Care Week May 8-13. We're recognizing everyone who works within the UI Health Care enterprise, regardless of their role or physical location.
We encourage you to join us in saying “thank you” to health care workers. And, if you want to be a part of our world class team, we invite you to join our “village.”
As we continue to meet the health care needs of Iowans, there are opportunities to grow with UI Health Care. Regardless of background or skill set, everyone can find a role where they can make a meaningful difference.
Together, we are changing medicine, changing lives.
