2016 Transplant Games Athlete — Jonathan Kiser

From Surgery to Competition

Jonathan traveled from his hometown of Muscatine, Iowa to Cleveland, Ohio to compete in the 2016 Donate Life Transplant Games as a kidney recipient. 

He participated in a variety of bowling events and showed his skill at darts.

A Second Chance at Life

Jonathan's biggest high point during his transplant experience was waking up after surgery knowing his kidney was working and his health was improving.

For Jonathan, University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics is a second chance at life, and another place he can call home. The Transplant Games gives him and others like him a chance to come together and show the world they can play sports too.
