University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital has been recognized as an Accredited Center of Care by the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation.
The Accredited Center of Care program recognizes medical centers that provide high-quality cardiac care and specialized disease management to children with cardiomyopathy, a chronic disease in which the heart muscle thickens and is unable to pump blood adequately.
UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital is the only comprehensive pediatric heart program in Iowa, offering diagnosis and treatment for the full spectrum of heart disease in infants, children, and young adults.
“Receiving accreditation from the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation is a high honor and lets our patients and families know that they are in the best of hands when they come to our team for care,” said Ian Law, MD, division director of pediatric cardiology at UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital is one of just 38 such accredited centers throughout the United States and Canada.
