About Drake Bouzek

As a native Iowan, I love getting the opportunity to build relationships with children and families affected by chronic lung disease (in Iowa and beyond!) and empowering kids to pursue their interests and passions by improving their ability to breathe. These relationships allow me to better understand the specific needs of each child and learn about ongoing symptoms and limitations not amenable to treatment that could be investigated using rigorous mechanism-based research.

The opportunities to work with world-renowned researchers in top-notch research facilities at the University of Iowa allow me to collaborate with the brightest minds to discover underpinnings of childhood lung disease that can lead to the development of new treatments and one day, hopefully cures, for respiratory conditions impacting kids' lives.
