From my initial video appointment through my surgery and post-op check-up, I have never felt more comfortable with and confident in a physician than I did with Dr. Hoffman. He provided me with a very thorough explanation of the medical situation I facing, and he was very patient as he answered my numerous questions. I went from never even having heard of a parotid gland stone to clearly understanding not only what it was and but also what my options were to deal with the issue. I am nearly 3-weeks post-op and I am extremely pleased with the outcome. I also want to note that during my first consultation with Dr. Hoffman our discussion about my arthritis led to the discovery that he, like me, Is a long time guitar player. Just taking a few seconds to find out that we had music In common enforced my initial impression that Dr. Hoffman was very down-to-earth and that I could feel comfortable talking to him as we pursued a course of action to take care of my medical problem.

By far the best thing about being cared for at UIHC is the quality of the doctors and staff. Everyone, from the front desk personnel to the nurses to the technicians to the doctors, has been kind, caring, and very good at what they do. There's nothing better when dealing with a medical Issue than having complete confidence In your medical team, and that is what I have.

I can honestly say that this was the most informative and thorough Doctors visit I have ever had. Doctor Hoffman presented case studies and outcomes, he explained the benefits and risks of each treatment option and took time to listen to my concerns and ask me what I wanted to do. Most appointments that I have been to in the past consisted of a doctor in the room for about 5 minutes. My normal providers work for corporate hospital and are pushed to see a certain number of patients each day. I appreciate the extra time that Dr. Hoffman took to explain things.

The consultations with Dr. Hoffman were the best thing about my visit. He was very thorough and explained the purpose of the ultrasound and the sialogram, the steps involved, as well as the results of the procedure. It's a huge relief to be in his care after years of struggling with this situation.
