Catalyst Funding Process at UI Health Care

University of Iowa Health Care staff can apply for funding from the University of Iowa Health Care Catalyst Fund, a program made possible thanks to generous private support. Funds may be used to enhance the important work staff are doing each day through clinical care or to provide patient and family support. Eligible examples include support for diversionary items, special supplies and equipment, patient/family education, outreach initiatives, or other programs benefitting patients and families served at UI Health Care.


Please note: the Catalyst Funding Process is open to UI Health Care staff only. No external applications will be considered.

Projects that support the following goals are encouraged to apply:

1. Provide convenient access and excellent service

2. Deliver the safest, highest quality of care

3. Develop organizational talents

4. Enhance our staff resiliency

5. Build and strengthen key programs

6. Advance innovative health care delivery concepts

 

Required information for the Form:

  • Contact Information
  • Department - Department or unit within UI Health Care
  • Amount Requesting - The amount can be any range
  • Approval for Capital or IT Project - Capital/Facility/IT projects must be approved by appropriate supervisors.
  • Description of Funding Needed - a 1000-word opportunity to share funding needs.
  • Additional questions may surface depending on the response.

"Ice vests for the Burn Unit nursing staff who work in high temperature environments."
"“Buzzy Helps!” devices to be used as intervention during procedures that require a needle."
"Expansion of the Rossi Guest House Lodging Program to offset lodging expenses for families being treated at the hospital."
"Attendance at a national professional conference, specific to one’s practice area."
"Pediatric Rheumatology implemented a support group for families impacted by childhood rheumatic disease."
"Children’s and Women’s Services purchased additional grief and bereavement supplies for the comprehensive bereavement services offered within the hospital."
