2. Cover coughs and sneezes

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, and wash your hands after to prevent the spread of germs.

Wearing a mask helps protect you and others from the flu and all other respiratory illnesses like COVID-19.

4. Wash your hands

Wash your hands often with soap and water. If you don’t have access to soap and water, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

5. Clean and disinfect surfaces

Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and objects frequently. These items include doorknobs, light switches, tables, faucets, toilets, and electronics.

6. Limit contact with others

Stay home for at least 24 hours after your fever is gone or your symptoms improve, except to get medical care or other necessities. Remember, isolation guidelines may be different for COVID-19.
