University of Iowa QuickCare–Old Capitol Town Center is a walk-in acute care clinic available to anyone that is sick, but does not need an emergency room or can't get in to see their doctor. No appointments are needed.

You can also see members of our Psychiatry team at this location, but those visits are available by appointment only.

If you have flu symptoms or health concerns related to 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we ask that you schedule a COVID-19 test.

  • Symptoms include fever in the last 24 hours or new or worsening: cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath

You can schedule through MyChart or by calling 1-319-384-9010.

Visitor restrictions

The temporary restrictions apply to all UI Health Care patient care facilities, including UI QuickCare or UI Urgent Care.

  • Adult patients: One visitor/support person is now allowed for patients aged 70 or older
  • Pediatric patients: Two adult visitors/support persons are allowed per patient per day

If you are experiencing symptoms related to influenza or COVID-19, including fever in the last 24 hours or new or worsening cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath, we ask that you schedule a telehealth video visit.

Please seek emergency care for severe shortness of breath, allergic reactions, bleeding that does not stop after 10 minutes, sudden, severe pain, head injuries, seizures, poisoning, major injuries or broken bones, coughing or vomiting blood, suicidal or homicidal feelings, fainting, or signs of a heart attack or stroke.
