Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine (Comirnaty) delivered to UI Health Care

University of Iowa Health Care is the first in the state to start vaccinating employees with the Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine (Comirnaty) against COVID-19. The vaccine was approved for emergency use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is prioritized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities.

University of Iowa Health Care received their first shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine (Comirnaty) on Monday, Dec. 14, 2020 and vaccinated the first set of employees at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
