Buikema

MD, MPH

Brenda S. Buikema, MD, received her medical degree from the University of Iowa, Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Buikema completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics and has served as a staff physician and Clinical Assistant Professor with the Department of Internal Medicine, in the division of General Internal Medicine. She subsequently completed a residency in Occupational Medicine at the University of Iowa as well as a Masters in Public Health at the University of Iowa, College of Public Health. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Occupational Medicine at the University of Iowa, Carver College of Medicine, and at the University of Iowa College of Public Health. Dr. Buikema has also previously worked as a hospitalist at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Dr. Buikema is currently a staff physician at UI Occupational Health in North Liberty.

Dr. Buikema is available to see employees for pre-placement evaluations and work injuries.
