Also known as dupixant, dupilumab is given as a shot. It is used to treat eczema and atopic dermatitis. It is an antibody that blocks two cytokines called IL-4 and IL-13 that cause eczema and atopic dermatitis.
Side effects of dupilumab
Skin reaction at the injection site
Eye irritation and inflammation, such as blepharitis (swollen eye lid), conjunctivitis (pink eye), dry eyes, itching eyes, and keratitis (eye swelling)
Rare but serious side effects of dupilumab
Activation of the herpes or cold sore virus
Allergic reactions
Tell your doctor if you have redness, pain, or itching in your eyes, or if you get sores or blisters.
Asthma and dupilumab
Do not change or stop any asthma treatment without talking to your doctor.
