How we're delivering convenient, quality cancer care in the Quad Cities
University of Iowa Health Care has had a thriving hematology oncology practice in Bettendorf for years. Now it continues to enhance the cancer services available at this location after recently purchasing a neighboring radiation oncology practice.
The radiation oncology practice acquisition fits with UI Health Care’s long-term goals of increasing overall access to cancer services in the Quad Cities and extending UI Health Care’s cancer clinical programs of excellence to Eastern Iowans. Acquiring this second practice gives patients better access to a broad spectrum of high standard cancer care closer to home and in one convenient location.
“The Department of Radiation Oncology is excited to join the team in delivering outstanding cancer care to the Quad Cities,” says Bryan Allen, PhD, UI Health Care Radiation Oncology Department Chair. “Our dedicated team of providers is committed to bringing our extensive expertise to the community.”
“Our team does really incredible work for our patients every single day in the Quad Cities,” says Michael Henry, PhD, interim director for UI Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. “Patients here are used to excellent care and having access to the full expertise of the doctors and researchers with Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. They expect it. And we’re only going to build upon that excellence.”
