Volunteer Impact on Patient Experience
- 191 volunteers received Making a Difference Awards in recognition of their exceptional service, a 25% increase from FY25.
- Volunteers printed and hand delivered over 2,300 personalized messages to inpatients of all 3 hospitals which were submitted by friends and family through our entirely complimentary online “Send a Letter to a Hospitalized Patient” webform
- Volunteer dog/handler teams interacted with over 6,000 staff through COPE therapy dog comfort visits.
- New this year, our volunteers hand-painted colorful suncatchers, attached caring notes, and delivered them bedside to all adult inpatients seasonally.
- Over 2,300 newborns received a baby hat hand-made by volunteers to celebrate the milestone of their birth at Stead Family Children’s Hospital!

- The Salon joined the Child Life team to help make the back-to-school season extra special for pediatric patients.
Nearly 700 staff and guests received massage services at our Relaxation Station, now offering on-line scheduling just like the Fourth Floor Salon!
