In 2013, the Autism Support Program (ASP) was created through legislation passed by the Iowa Senate (Senate File 446). Administered by the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, this program was established to provide Applied Behavior Analysis services to eligible Iowa children. In partnership with CHSC, an expert panel was established to develop administrative rules for ASP and provide guidance for statewide autism activities.
What is the Autism Support Program?
The Autism Support Program provides funding for Applied Behavior Analysis services to children under the age of 14 who are not eligible to receive services through Medicaid or private health insurance and who meet certain diagnostic and financial eligibility criteria.
