The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a dynamic group of young leaders working with the Division of Child and Community Health to improve health care for children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) across Iowa.
YAC members collaborate directly with program staff to share insights, shape initiatives, and ensure that services reflect the lived experiences of youth and families. Through this council, youth gain leadership experience, build self-advocacy skills, and help improve systems of care for CYSHCN and their families.
