Parent Management Training
Parent Management Training helps to change how a child responds in interpersonal situations at home, at school, and in the community with teachers, parents, peers, and siblings. This treatment uses learning-based procedures to increase desired behaviors and includes modeling, positive reinforcement, and repeated rehearsal.
Part 1 will include training in the Kazdin Method through online modules that must be completed prior to the Zoom session. Part 2 will be held via Zoom on April 25, 2025 and will include a day of instruction and case consultation with two child psychologists.
Participants must have a Master's degree or higher in the mental health field. Training will be limited to 12 participants.

Unified Protocol for Children and Adolescents
This training draws on years of clinical work and research on cognitive behavioral therapy with children and adolescents, packaged in an easy to use and flexible format that includes materials for individual and group therapy, and sessions with parents.
Considered to be part of the "next wave" of evidence-based treatments for children and adolescents, this training uses techniques families to those trained in cognitive behavioral therapy. It is a departure from disorder-specific treatments of various emotional disorders and is designed to be applicable to all anxiety and unipolar mood disorders.
Participants must have a Master's degree or higher in the mental health fields. Training will be limited to 20 participants.

The purpose of this FREE training is to increase the number of mental health providers in Iowa who are able to provide evidence-based therapies to children and families.
Because space is limited, your are encouraged to apply only if you are sure you can complete both parts of the training.
Once you received your confirmation of registration for the training, please mark and block you calendars so that you are able to attend.
Application deadline is April 18, 2025. Since participation is limited to 20 people, applicants will be notified by May 1, 2025 if they have been accepted or not.
