It is time to vaccinate to prevent winter viruses
Get ready now for the three most common winter viruses – flu, COVID-19 and RSV. Schedule your COVID-19 and flu shots at one of our locations and learn if the new RSV medicines are right for you and your family.
Our pediatricians are members of the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital team which means they work hand-in-hand with all pediatric specialists at UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital. The use of one electronic medical record for each patient ensures constant and timely communication between your child’s entire medical team.

Visits for expecting parents
It’s important to find a doctor you feel comfortable with, which is why we offer prenatal appointments. We recommend you schedule this appointment late in your second trimester or early in the third trimester so you have an opportunity to meet and discuss your baby’s care before his or her arrival.
Our pediatricians also staff the newborn nursery at the hospital, will check on your baby regularly, and answer any questions you may have. Before going home, we will help you schedule your baby’s first well-check visit. This appointment should take place within one to three days after going home from the hospital.

Back-to-school and sports physicals
In Iowa, children who attend child care centers or are enrolled in school must show their immunization records to attend any facilities licensed by the state. Schools and sports teams require documentation that your child has had an annual well-child physical within the past year. Beat the rush and schedule a physical with your child’s primary care provider.
