Executive Health Program FAQs

As a busy professional, your health and time are two of your most valuable resources. Our Executive Health Program can help you manage both.

Use this list of commonly asked questions to learn more about our program and how UI Health Care can help you:

Call us at 1-319-356-2828 or email us at [email protected] and we will answer any questions you may have.

The Executive Health Program is open to all individuals—from small-business owners to employees of large organizations.

The half-day Executive Health physical includes tests at various departments within University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Your visit typically will last four to five hours.

For your convenience, here is a typical schedule of Executive Health physicals for male and female patients. Please note that these are examples only.

Please contact us at least six to eight weeks in advance to schedule your Executive Health physical. To make an appointment, call 1-319-356-2828. To help us prepare for your visit, we will mail you a medical questionnaire for you to complete and return before your appointment.

  • A list of your current medications and dosages. It may be helpful to bring your medications with you.
  • Pertinent medical information and X-rays supplied by your local physician, if you have not already sent that information.
  • Your health insurance card, in case additional tests or exams not included in the Executive Health physical are needed.

Because of the highly specialized, preventive nature of our program, most insurance companies will not cover our services. Therefore, we do not bill insurance companies. However, if additional tests or treatments are needed, those appointments will be billed through your insurance provider.

Our program is not a substitute for your primary care provider. In fact, we regularly consult with physicians inside and outside of the UI Health Care system. With your written authorization, we will send a letter with your test results to your doctor and consult with him or her as needed.

If you will participate in a treadmill test, please wear comfortable clothing and gym shoes.

Please do not drink or eat anything, other than water, after midnight the night before your physical. You will receive a complimentary breakfast following your blood screening.

Please call us at 1-319-356-2828 at least 10 days in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
