Specialists see patients for a variety of health care concerns including heart failure, radiation oncology, family planning, OBGYN services, and more. With established primary care providers and urgent care clinics opening, UI Health Care’s presence in the Quad Cities serves as a necessary access point for patients seeking care from Iowa’s only academic medical center.
"Our Davenport urgent care has been open for about a month and we’ve seen patients every day. That's a huge success for launching a brand-new clinic,” says Rachel Kirchner, director of clinical services with UI Community Clinics, a part of UI Health Care. “Getting this kind response from the community, we know having access to Iowa’s only academic medical center close to home is desirable for patients.”
UI Urgent Care Davenport opened at the end of January at 2705 E 53rd St with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. A second urgent care will open at 865 Lincoln Road in Bettendorf in the coming months. This location also houses services in family medicine, dermatology, and pediatric specialty care.
“One of our main goals is patient satisfaction and so much of that comes from being able to offer convenient care from health care professionals who are able to help patients navigate the intricacies of a complex diagnosis,” Kirchner says. “Having so many specialties close to where we're also providing routine care really supports UI Health Care’s overall mission.”
