UI Health Care establishes consistent Quick Care, Urgent Care hours beginning July 5
Beginning July 5, University of Iowa Health Care will offer consistent hours across all Quick Care and Urgent Care locations. Each clinic will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. (CT), seven days a week.
This change reflects how patients are already using walk-in services, with most visits occurring before 7 p.m. By aligning clinic hours with patient demand, UI Health Care can ensure the right staff and resources are available during the busiest times, helping maintain timely, high-quality care while continuing to serve the same number of patients each day.
Standardizing hours across same-day care locations is part of UI Health Care’s ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of the communities it serves. Consistent hours will also make it easier for patients to know when and where they can access care.
Patients are encouraged to utilize the “On My Way” tool available at uihc.org/same-day-care. While this is not a scheduled appointment, it reserves your place on the waitlist prior to arriving at the clinic.
Please note that your actual visit time may vary based on several factors, including the number of patients currently being treated and the nature and urgency of their conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Why are clinic hours changing?
UI Health Care regularly reviews how and when patients use our walk-in clinics to ensure we’re providing care when it’s needed most. Will all Quick Care and Urgent Care locations follow the same schedule?
Yes. All Quick Care and Urgent Care locations will now be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week. Having consistent hours across all locations makes it easier for patients to know when and where they can receive care.
