Access to same day care continues to grow in Quad Cities
University of Iowa Health Care opened its second urgent care location and expanded family medicine access in the Quad Cities on June 4.
Patients of University of Iowa Health Care have another option for both same day care and primary care in the Quad Cities as a second urgent care opens and family medicine services are expanded. As the state’s only comprehensive academic medical system, UI Health Care continues to increase access to meet the care needs of Iowans.
The walk-in urgent care clinic expands upon existing services at 865 Lincoln Rd, Suite 400 in Bettendorf with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Patients of all ages can be seen at any UI Health Care urgent care or family medicine location including the recent addition of a clinic in Davenport Patients can minimize their wait time for urgent care by joining the waiting queue online or in MyChart..
With additional family medicine providers coming onboard at this location, patients benefit from having a physician who not only can see every member of the family but can also coordinate specialty care as needed. This streamlines the process as a specialist will consult the same medical record maintained by family medicine providers. New patients can schedule online through UI Health Care’s Family Medicine website.
Urgent cares are walk-in clinics that provide care for minor illnesses and injuries and typically have shorter wait times than a busy emergency room. With convenient hours—including nights and weekends—patients receive services that go beyond a typical walk-in clinic, including IV fluids, stitches, and X-rays. Know when to visit an urgent care by reviewing UI Health Care’s online guidelines. Patients may save time in the waiting room by letting us know they’re on their way through MyChart and the Urgent Care’s website.
Clinics such as the ones in Bettendorf and Davenport act as an access point for patients to connect with the world-class, excellent care of UI Health Care. The health system already has locations in the Quad Cities that provide family medicine, dermatology, cancer care, OBGYN services, pediatric specialty care, and more.
This expansion of health care services in the Quad Cities further supports UI Health Care’s long-term goals of supporting access to health care across the state.
