About Barry McDonough

Restoring people's function has always been the attraction of Orthopaedics for me. Whether it is reconstructing the gymnast's knee to allow them to return to competition, repairing the mechanic's shoulder to allow them to return to their job, or helping a parent to simply play without knee pain with their children, this is what motivates me. I joined the University of Iowa because I believe it will make me a better physician, a better leader, and a better person.
