About Jangbo Lee

I worked as a tenured professor in the Department of Korea University medical center at South Korea, and I have accumulated extensive experience and expertise in the field of spine surgery over the past twenty years. The main reason I came to the United State was that all four of my children were studying here, and I wanted to live closer to them. Thirty years ago, I happened to visit Iowa because I had relatives Iowa, and I felt that Iowa was a good nature and serene place that suited my personality very well. So, I had often thought about wanting to live in Iowa someday. But now that my dream has become a reality. My surgical philosophy has focused on performing the precise and appropriated procedures also I have advanced the minimal invasive spine surgery techniques. During my time in residency, witnessing the despairing situations of patients paralyzed due to spinal cord injury sparked a desire in me to contribute to the treatment. This motivation became the driving force behind my research. I primarily conducted research involving neural stem cells for spinal cord regeneration. I want to continue my research in Iowa as well. I felt that University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics is like the heart of Iowa. I consider it an honor to work here, and I will give my best for each and every patient.
