We offer state-of-the-art testing to help us accurately diagnose lung problems early when they are most treatable.
This includes:
- Allergy testing
- Bronchoscopy
- Pulmonary function tests (PFT)
- Laryngoscopy
- Lung cancer screening
- Radiographic testing
- VIDA precision pulmonary imaging
If you need treatment for your airway disorder, lung infection, or other pulmonary conditions, we have the answers. UI Health Care offers you personalized treatment plans and access to clinical trials to help improve your quality of life.
Your expert care team
Our team of lung experts specializes in diagnosing and treating the full range of lung disorders and diseases. This includes everything from shortness of breath and chronic cough to asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis, and interstitial lung disease.
Our pulmonologists are also researchers. They participate in and lead research that looks at new ways to treat a wide range of lung conditions. Depending on your condition, you may even be eligible for clinical trials of promising new therapies not yet widely available.
UI Health Care pulmonologists also have extensive experience treating and managing complex lung infections, such as:
- Tuberculosis
- Histoplasmosis
- Bronchiectasis
- Atypical mycobacterial disease
And if you have chronic recurrent lung infections, we can help. Our team offers comprehensive care for bronchiectasis, in which chronic lung infections cause problems in your airway.
Improving lives through advanced care
The UI Health Care pulmonology team is passionate about providing the best care for your distinct needs. Many patients with pulmonary issues also have other related health conditions. That’s why we work closely with additional specialists to provide you with a holistic and personalized treatment plan.
For example, if you need a lung transplant, our pulmonologists will coordinate your pre-transplant testing and evaluations.
Our pulmonologists also play an important role in our lung cancer screening program. If your screening reveals suspicious lung nodules, your pulmonologist will collaborate with the lung cancer team to determine next steps.
- Our pulmonary rehabilitation program can help you improve your lung health and live more independently. Our program is nationally certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Our smoking cessation program can help you quit smoking and improve your lung health.
- We offer behavioral health support and social work services to help you cope with the challenges of chronic lung disease.
- Our occupational medicine program addresses work-related health conditions and environmental exposures that may affect lung health.
