MAT is the combination of medications to treat addiction along with counseling and behavioral therapies. Our clinic offers all of these components of the treatment, and our providers will help you decide which combination of treatments is best for you.

For medication, our providers mainly use buprenorphine, an approved medication to treat opioid addiction that is often referred to by the brand name Suboxone. The medicine blocks cravings and prevents withdrawal symptoms, making it a safe and effective treatment option. Sometimes, naltrexone is prescribed instead for our patients with opioid addiction. Our providers will work with you to determine which medication is best for you and your specific needs.

Improve well being
Increase your ability to fulfill goals, such as maintaining a job
Improve birth outcomes among women who have substance use disorders and are pregnant
Decrease the risk of getting HIV or hepatitis C, protecting both yourself and others

Payment

We accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Iowa Medicaid, Medicare, and other insurance that covers care at UI Hospitals & Clinics. A payment plan is available for patients paying cash for services.
